Hey all you Graduates, I am hearing you all getting exited for prom. I still remember my prom way the heck back in '99 when I was at Dover Bay. We had are prom at Beban where I think they are having it this year again. I think the best part of prom was just being with friends, dressing up and hanging out with those you love most. We all went up to Horn lake and spent the night at a cabin and had a blast swimming in the wee hours of the morning, playing games and chatting by the fire.
I want you guys to have a great time at your prom as well. I also want you to have a safe place to hang out as well. I have had a few people asking if I would open up the youth room for the Prom goers. I would love to do that for all of you. However I would like some suggestions of what you would like to do. Do you want food? We can watch movies we could play some games its really up to you. So let me know what I can do to make it a good event.
Enjoy your prom and have a good safe time. Make sure its a time you will remember with people you care about.

Giving Up
Have you ever felt like giving up? Throwing in the towel? Waving the white flag? Conceding? Pleading guilty? Running away? Moving to Nagorno? Or living in a cave?
I have.
Have you ever felt like giving up on God? Like its just not worth it anymore? It seems that sometimes no matter what you do you cannot find God. Isn't it weird how life is full of peaks and valleys. That one day it seems that God is right there with you and other times you just feel like life is going to take over. That its just not worth living for God anymore. It seems that sometimes I can have so much faith and then other times i'm scared. Scared at what life is gonna do to me next. Scared that I am gonna give up on God and scared that God has given up on me.
Last week we were reading a book in our Bible study called "facing your giants" and it told of King David before he was King. Now this is the same David that killed Goliath a man 4 times his size. A man who trusted God and His promises. In 1 Samuel 21 David runs and is scared... it seems he has given up... he has thrown in the towel... He goes to Gath (his enemy) and is so afraid pretends he is insane. He drools on himself!!!! Then david moves to a cave... how did David get here? How do we get here? David gave up... he stopped trusting God. What is facinating is what David does now. He writes Psalm 57...
Jesus says those that seek will find (Matthew 7:7)
If you find yourself ready to give up... be honest with God and cry out to Him he is waiting for you.
